Summary of this proficiency test:

On 1 April 2011 the proficiency test on Benzene started with 51 participants from 24 different countries.

On 1 April 2011 the proficiency test on Toluene started with 40 participants from 20 different countries.

On that date, samples (#11034 and/or #11035) were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the safety data sheet (SDS).

The samples for Benzene have to be analyzed on Acid wash color, Acidity, Appearance, Bromine index, Colour, Density @ 20 oC, Distillation, Total Chlorine, Total Nitrogen, Solidification point, Methylcyclohexane, Toluene, Nonaromatics and Purity.

The samples for Toluene have to be analyzed on Acid wash color, Appearance, Colour, Density @ 20 oC, Distillation, Purity, Copper Corrosion, Non aromatics hydrocarbons, Benzene and Styrene.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 29 April 2011. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
