Proficiency Test on Gear Oil started

Summary of this proficiency test:

On 11 March 2015 the proficiency test on Gear Oil started with 12 participants from 11 different countries. On that date, the samples were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the safety data sheet (SDS).

The samples can be analyzed on Total Acid Number, Density @ 15°C, Flash Point PMcc, Kinematic viscosity @ 40°C, Kinematic viscosity @ 100°C, Copper Corrosion, Viscosity Index, Viscosity Stabinger at 40°C and at 100°C, Pour Point Manual/ Automated, Sulphur, Water Separability, Rust Preventing, Ca, P and Zn.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 10 April 2015. A laboratory that reports test results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
