Summary of this proficiency test:

On 13 January 2016 the proficiency test on Fuel Oil started with 220 participants from 67 different countries.

On that date, the samples were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples can be analyzed on: 

Acid Number, API Gravity, Ash Content, Asphaltenes, Calc.Carbon Aromaticity Index, Carbon Residue,  Density at 15°C , Flash Point PMcc, Heat of Combustion, Kinematic viscosity @ 50°C/100°C, Viscosity Stabinger @ 50°C/ 100°C, Nitrogen content, Pour Point, Sediment by extraction, Total sediment,  Total Sulphur Content, Water by distillation, Water&sediment, Distillation ASTM D1160 performed @ 10 mmHg, CHN-Analyser, Bromine Number, P-Value, Compatibility Rating, Cleanliness rating, Blend Ratio Used and Several Metals.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 19 February 2016. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
