Summary of this proficiency test:

On 7 April 2010 the proficiency test on Benzene started with 43 participants from 18 different countries.

On 7 April 2010 the proficiency test on Toluene started with 36 participants from 19 different countries.

On that date, samples (#1034 and/or #1035) were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples for Benzene have to be analyzed on Acid wash color, Acidity, Appearance, Bromine index, Colour, Density @ 20 oC, Distillation, Total Chlorine, Total Nitrogen, Solidification point, Methylcyclohexane, Toluene, Nonaromatics and Purity.

The samples for Toluene have to be analyzed on Acid wash color, Appearance, Colour, Density @ 20 oC, Distillation, Purity, Copper Corrosion, Non aromatics hydrocarbons, Benzene and Styrene.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 17 April 2009. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
