Summary of this proficiency test:

On 5 May 2010 the proficiency test on Butylacrylate started with 19 participants from 15 different countries.

On that date, the sample was dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the sample were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples have to be analyzed on: Acidity (free acid as acrylic acid),Appearance, Colour Pt/Co, Density @ 20°C, MEHQ, Water, Purity , Purity on dry basis , n-Butanol, n-Butylacetate, n-Butylmetacrylate, n-Butylpropionate, Di-n-butylether, 2-Ethylhexylacrylate, Isobutylacrylate, Unknown impurities.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 4 June 2010. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
