"Accreditation and Quality Assurance" is the journal for Quality, Comparability and Reliability in Chemical Measurements. It publishes, in a strictly practice-oriented manner, scientific and technical contributions, short communications, discussions and position papers as well as other information on all aspects relevant to quality and reliability in chemical measurements.

In the section International Committees section of the issue of December 1998, I.I.S. was introduced. The article describes the institute and our work. A second article, "The influence of different evaluation techniques on the results of interlaboratory comparisons", contributes to the discussion forum. It is a reaction on an earlier publication in the journal and introduces the I.I.S. way of the calculation of summary indices. Finally, in the same issue, the coming proficiency test of I.I.S. in the period January - May are announced.
